Common Questions
Everything you need to know about our guided walks along Sandymount Strand and the Poolbeg Lighthouse path
Our Sandymount Strand walk is about 4.5km and takes roughly 90 minutes with rest stops included. We're not training for marathons here—we pace ourselves comfortably so you can enjoy the surroundings, chat with others, and take breaks whenever you need them.
Spring and autumn are lovely—the weather's mild and you'll catch migratory birds. Summer can get busy with tourists, and winter winds are fierce out there. We run guided walks year-round though, and each season has its charm if you're dressed right.
Waterproof jacket, comfortable walking shoes with good grip (it gets muddy near the strand), and layers—the coastal wind can pick up even on mild days. Bring a small rucksack with water and a snack. Check out our gear and preparation guide for a full checklist.
Yes. We build in 2-3 scheduled stops where you can sit, catch your breath, and enjoy the view. There's a café near the start of Sandymount Strand, and facilities at the Poolbeg Visitor Centre. We also plan routes so you're never far from a spot to rest if you need one.
Absolutely. We've got members with all sorts of histories—bad knees, replaced hips, you name it. Our guides know how to adjust pacing and can suggest alternative routes if needed. Just let us know what works for you when you book, and we'll make it happen.
Get in touch with us at our contact page and we'll send you full details about pricing, upcoming walk dates, and how to book. We usually offer a few walks each month, and spots fill up quickly during good weather.
